Despite the attempts to stop American citizens from gaming at online casinos, the numbers of players is growing. (Bodog Beat Image)

Last month alone showed an 11% increase of players, and it’s estimated that over 16 million Americans play on online casinos now. That proves that the ban established by the Bush government has achieved nothing but creating a black market.

Players are not protected against fraud or identity theft, and criminals are able to use the industry to perform crimes like money laundering and nothing is in place to protect the players from these crimes. All this could change if regulations were put into place. Instead of turning the citizens into criminals and creating a place for real criminals to operate, the government could be collecting huge taxes from the industry. You would think that in these trying times the government would take advantage of the available funds the industry would provide.
