Joe V. of St. Petersburg hit the progressive jackpot while playing Let Em Ride a couple weeks ago, instantly winning over $185,000. Joe was kind enough to give Bodog Beat an interview and share the tale of his epic online casino win.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m married and living in St. Petersburg. For a living I’m a regional manager in the electronics industry.

How long have you been playing at Bodog?

Almost two years now.

Do you just play in the casino or do you also take advantage of the Bodog poker room and sportsbook?

I play some poker. I’m not really into the sportsbook, but I’m predominantly casino.

What are you favorite games?

Definitely Let Em Ride. It’s something where you can understand the odds pretty quickly. It essentially comes down to being in the right place at the right time with hitting the Royal Flush the ultimate goal for many Let Em Ride players.

Which leads us to the reason for this interview, you hit a Royal Flush while Playing Let Em Ride, correct?

I did. It’s funny actually. My wife and I were playing and were thinking, “You know, everybody’s got a chance. Why not us?” So that’s become our new motto, “Why not us?”

So what was your reaction when you hit it?

I said to my wife, "Holy shit, I just won the whole thing!" It was great because what happened when you’re actually playing and you hit a payout, that amount blinks and then it shifts back to the total progressive. So I was playing and it came up Ace of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, Ten of Hearts. So I’m thinking, "Okay well, I’ve got to let this ride," because there were a lot of options. Up comes the King of Hearts and I’m thinking, "Okay, you know. Why not?" I hit the button and it took a little while, like a couple second, and then it flipped over the Jack of Hearts. My eyes got like silver dollars in them and it was blinking, "$186,706.44″ right at me. And we happened to have $12 total (4X3) riding on it so there was another 12 at 1000-1 odds. It was unbelievable.

That must have been an incredible feeling.

Oh, it’s like what are the odds? You got people playing in Croatia and Russia and Vegas and wherever. And by the way it must have been the largest Let Em Ride win there.

What are you plans for all that money?

It might be a little boring but we’re definitely going to pay off some debt. I think that’s probably the mantra for the U.S. right now. We’ll probably take a trip out to Vegas. Probably going to continue to play more Bodog.
