Lorenzo Fertitta resigned from his position as president of Station Casinos yesterday. Fertitta stated that his time was being increasingly divided between the family-owned off-Strip Las Vegas casino and the Ultimate Fighting Championship which the family also owns a portion of.

Fertitta’s brother Frank Fertitta will be taking over the full time operation of the Station Casinos while Lorenzo dedicates his time to working at the UFC.

UFC fans are particularly excited about this move as many recognize it as meaning a proven business expert will be having a greater impact on the league. This is potentially an important factor for assisting the UFC president Dana White with operations and building the league out to a more global scale.
