Actor Kiefer Sutherland, who was arrested after a party earlier this month for allegedly head-butting designer Jack McCollough in New York, has apologized for his actions.
In a joint statement with the designer Sutherland opened by stating, "I am sorry about what happened that night and sincerely regret that Mr. McCollough was injured."
McCollough accepted the apology by saying, "I appreciate Mr. Sutherland's statement and wish him well."
Charges have not been dropped for Sutherland, however. He was charged with misdemeanor assault and is due court on June 22.
The trouble between Sutherland and McCollough began on Monday, May 6 when Sutherland went all Jack Bauer on McCullough and head-butted him for knocking over Brooke Shields at the after party for the Met Costume Institute Gala. Shields has since countered her initial PR statement and said that she was indeed bumped and Sutherland was being a gentleman.
