The burned, diabolically scary kiddie killer Freddy Krueger is back for the new installment of A Nightmare on Elm Street. This Freddy has a different look than the Freddy of the 1984 original thriller, with a face more disfigured than the original and a new actor to boot. Freddy's role will be played by Jackie Earle Haley, which was made famous by the awesome Robert Englund.

Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise scared the crap out of teenagers across America when a serial killer who appeared only in the dreams of the characters, brutally slashed them to death in reality. The movie itself won't hit theaters until April, but Freddy fans can get a sneak peek via a just-released trailer.

The remake of the movie offers more back story on Krueger, giving viewers insight into why he transforms into a kid-killing monster and at the same time, bares a more sympathetic portrayal of Krueger.
