Freddie Mercury is probably rolling over in his grave, but the scary truth in all this is that "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert may soon become Queen's new lead singer. In an interview with Rolling Stone, legendary guitarist Brian May said that while nothing has been finalized, he and drummer Roger Taylor "are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point."
"I’d certainly like to work with Adam," May added. "That is one amazing instrument he has there."
If you caught Lambert's performance of "We Are The Champions" then you know the boy can belt it like there's no tomorrow. But can he pull off a lead role with a monster rock group like Queen? Does he have the charisma and stamina of a Freddie Mercury? He's certainly got a similar penchant for Spandex.
Bet on Adam Lambert at Bodog, where you can get all the best entertainment props.

Adam is AMAZING@! He has the best voice and range I have heard since Freddie. He sang the crap our of rhapsody and champions.
Comment *You're reporting this on June 19th? Lady, not only is this OLD news, but it's been confirmed weeks ago that Adam is NOT joining Queen as their new singer. He may, however, guest with them on some dates in the future. Check your facts, ma'am!
What do you mean Freddie's rolling in his grave?
So what do you think about JD Fortune taking Micheal Hutchence's place in INXS? Now I could see that possibly.
It may be old news, but it's still rather interesting. American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert continues to get more press than winner Kris Allen and what baffles me most is that I actually appear to care. Do you know how close I came to purchasing the latest issue of RollingStone? The one with Lambert on the cover? Man…
