Adam Lambert's AMA Performance Too Racy for ABC

Adam Lambert is feeling the burn from his sexy American Music Awards performance as Good Morning America canceled his appearance to on their show today – an important appearance for Lambert, who is trying to plug his first album For Your Entertainment that comes out this week.
"Given his controversial live performance on the 'AMA's, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning," an ABC News spokeswoman said Tuesday of Lambert's scheduled Hudson Theater performance.
During Lambert's performance, he kissed a male dancer on the lips and also thrust a back-up dancer's head into his crotch. Insiders say that Lambert hadn't done any of his racy stunts during rehearsals, so ABC execs were stunned when he pulled them during the live performance. The network received more than 1,500 complaints about Lambert's show.
Lambert said, "There's a big double standard, female pop artists have been doing things provocative like that for years, and the fact that I'm a male, and I'll be edited and discriminated against could be a problem."
Lambert went on to say, "Shock is fun, shock rock is like something that existed, for example, like in the 70's, Alice Cooper…David Bowie, you had artists that liked to push the envelope and that's what made them so fresh. Prince for example, wore assless chaps one year…I think that surprise is part of entertainment. I think that it keeps people watching its fun, it makes you laugh and it should be that way. And if it made you uncomfortable, maybe I'm not for you."
All is not lost for Lambert however, as CBS announced he'll perform live on The Early Show Wednesday and will also be interviewed about all the controversy. He's also appear on the Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday night.

My daughter and I were big fans of Adam and he had our votes on American Idol.. Sorry Adam you are disgusting, have lost your looks and where did the talent go. We will not watch any show that promotes you or will be buy your music. We are not narrow minded nor bigoted against gays but you went too far.gb
Get over it people! Your kids should have been in bed. He is a wonderful singer and DID NOT intend to offend anyone. You must not have liked Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley or James Brown. Go back into the hole you crawled out of if that offended you. Grow up!
When Adam appeared on the Early Show, the host, I believe Harry Smith, said Adam appealed to all demographics, the young, the old, men, women, etc., etc. However, the fans that showed up specifically for his peformance seemed, for the most part, to be middle aged grandmas – the type of women who follow Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks. Clay and Taylor, especially Taylor, attract a lot of sexy cougars but this didn't seem to be the case with Adam. There was a sprinkling of men (appx. 5%) & the rest seem to be an assortment of middle age to elderly women.
