American Idol Winner is Kris Allen

After a staggering 100 million votes and two hours of fluff, Kris Allen was crowned the American Idol champ. It was a shocking win, as Adam Lambert had been the favorite since the beginning of the season. There wasn't a dry eye in the house of the packed Kodak Theater in Los Angeles as Ryan Seacrest announced that the clean-cut Alabama country boy had prevailed against the theatrical glam rocker with the incredible Steven Tyler-esque pipes.

"Adam deserves this," a choked-up Kris Allen said immediately after his win.

Filler highlights included a performance by the Black Eyed Peas and a return of bikini girl Katrina Darrell, who had a Vision of Love sing-off against judge and resident hater, Kara DioGuardi – a show that ended with Kara out-singing Katrina and then opening her dress to reveal her hot bikini bod.

Adam Lambert sang alongside KISS, a performance which consisted of Gene Simmons sticking his tongue out between every repetitive riff of "Rock and Roll All Night" as well as pyrotechnics to divert the attention away from their mediocrity. Lambert came out on top though, making the song tolerable with amazing vocal crescendos.

Carlos Santana played "Black Magic Woman" with Matt Giraud, which turned into a "Smooth" sing-a-long with the top 13 Idol contestants.

Before Kris Allen was announced the American Idol winner, he and Adam Lambert sang an amazing rendition of "We Are the Champions" with Queen.

So – what do you think? Do you think Kris Allen is worthy of the title? Was Lambert robbed? Well, we at Bodog Beat loved 'em both and think Kris Allen is a nice boy who deserves the break. And Adam Lambert will be a star no matter what – so in the end, they're both winners. Awww, bless their hearts. And at least Kris Allen's win will make someone happy.

    The Kara sing off was where I shut off the TV- Why she felt she had to monopolize the stage is beyond me. It would have been better if she sang with the red haired 16 year old contestant. It kind of was a joke, upstaging bikini girl, opening her dress up, and then pretending to be modest to upstage bikini girl again. If she was going to comit to taking her clothes of on National TV, she should do it right. This whole episode was unnecessary- we know Kara is talented or else she wouldn't be a judge so why sing against a one note wonder? On another note, bikini girl had such a nice body before she decided to get breast implants that make her now ready to go to Playboy or Vegas- you heard it hear first! See where she is in a year! It's pretty sad she had to cut up her perfectly wonderful and proportioned body to look what she probably calls " Better". I feel sorry for her. I kind of thought Adam wouldn't win because of the tendancy he has to be over the top. But he is a heck of a lot more interesting than Kris. He'll still have a great career ahead of him. Good to to both of them!
