Trainwreck, boozed-up singer Amy Winehouse has cancelled the remainder of her U.K. tour and all promotional appearances through 2008 because she is too distraught over her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who is currently spending time in the slammer.
Wino released the following statement today: "I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake. I'm so sorry, but I don't want to do the shows half-hartedly. I love singing. My husband is everything to me, and without him, it's just not the same."
Poor, poor Amy. Perhaps if she hadn't shown up to most of her shows late, drunk and high, causing most of her concert goers to demand a refund, her fans might have a little more sympathy for her.
Winehouse's label also adds, "The rigours involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll. In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues. Her family has requested that the media respect Amy's privacy at this time."
In light of the whole situation, British tabloids are reporting that Winehouse is planning on checking into a drug treatment facility to deal with her demons.
