Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in prison today.
Fielder-Civil was apparently involved in a bar brawl which left a pub owner severely injured. Fielder-Civil then tried to bribe the victim with $400, 000 so that he wouldn't press charges. Fielder-Civil was charged with grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
The Daily Mail reports, "Judge David Radford told Fielder-Civil he had behaved in a 'gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful' way. Fielder-Civil has already served around nine months on remand and he could be free in four-and-a-half months if he behaves himself in prison. Miss Winehouse was not in court today to support her husband. Earlier, Fielder-Civil appealed to a judge to let him walk free so he could be a role model for the troubled singer."
Although it's laughable that Fielder-Civil could be a role model to any one — in her current state, a rabid dog could be a role model to her.
Although Winehouse wasn't at the court, Fielder-Civil found support in the arms of 21-year-old German model Sophie Schandorff, who broke down when he was sentenced.
