After months of anticipation, Angelina Jolie has finally given birth to twins in France, reports People magazine. The Wanted actress has given birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, and both mother and babies are reportedly recovering well.

Luckily, Jolie's doctor, Michel Sussmann, is a bit of a blabbermouth and has given up the nitty-gritty details of the childbirth. Awesome! "It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing," Sussmann told Us magazine. "They were happy."

According to Sussmann, the twins were delivered via Cesarian section on Saturday night at Lenval Hospital on the French Riviera. And father Brad Pitt even cut the babies' umbilical cords. "He was my assistant," Sussmann said. "He was perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional."

Jolie will apparently be staying in the hospital for several days. "She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn't like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is OK."

As for the twins' names, Vivienne is apparently the French version of a Latin name which means "alive," according to a baby name expert at US magazine. Marcheline is the name of Jolie's mother, who passed away from Cancer last year. Knox is Pitt's grandfather's middle name, and Leon is Jolie's great-great grandfather's name.
