This seems totally logical: Let's make an opera out of Anna Nicole Smith's tragic life story! According to U.K. magazine Female First, Smith's story will be the subject of a new production to be staged at London's Royal Opera House.
The opera is the newest production from the co-creator of Jerry Springer: The Opera. Words will be by Richard Thomas, and the score will be written by Mark-Anthony Turnage. "It's an incredible story," Thomas told Britain's The Independent newspaper. "It's very operatic and sad.
"She was quite a smart lady with the tragic flaw that she could not seem to get through life without a vat of prescription painkillers," Thomas continued. "For me, it ends when she does. It's an American story. I love American culture. Especially for opera, the stories seem to work on a grander, more epic scale."
That probably means operas about Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan will soon follow.

I think the list of Anna's "tragic flaws" is a long one.
