Bachelor Shocker: Jason Mesnick Picks Melissa Then Molly

Chris Harrison promised us the most dramatic season finale in Bachelor history and for once, he freakin' delivered. What started off as 25 women throwing themselves at the feet of unlucky-in-love single father Jason Mesnick, became a war between the cute Melissa Rycroft, a 25-year-old former Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, and department store buyer Molly Malaney from Grand Rapids, MI. But wait – producers have a sneaky twist up their sleeves – to reunite Jason with the woman who brutal rejected him on the last season of The Bachelorette, DeAnna Pappas.

Now if you didn't watch last season's drama, DeAnna brutally blinded-sided Jason, allowing him to almost propose before giving him the boot. Jason, whose previous wife had left him for another man, was so sure he'd won DeAnna's heart, he dropped to his knees to propose. Realizing he was about to pop the question, DeAnna grabbed his arm to pull him up. "No, I can't," she blurted.

DeAnna picked professional snowboarder Jessie Csinsak – and they're relationship was short-lived.

After introducing both Melissa and Molly to his family and his kid, Ty, Jason was obviously conflicted.

"Jason's taking this very seriously – he does not know what to do right now," Jason's mom, Irene Mesnick told cameras.

However, the return of Jason's reality show reject love was a brew. You could tell by the ominous change in weather patterns. DeAnna showed up to Jason's reality pad in New Zealand and rang the doorbell.

"If I chose you it would have worked, DeAnna told Jason. "If I could go back and would have followed what I wanted, I would have chose you."

She told him that he hadn't proposed to anyone yet, and that it's not too late for them. Jason didn't really decline or accept her offer – he just put her in a car and sent her on her way. Hooh raah!

When the limo finally pulled up, Molly stepped out wearing a deep purple gown.

"You are absolutely stunning and amazing," he said. "I don't know how I would ever let you go. But I have to."

"I just don't get it. I just don't get it. I just think you're making a huge mistake and you're going to end up hurt again," Molly said as Jason walked her out to the limo-o-shame.

When he proposed to Melissa, she jumped up and down when he finally told her he loved her.

"I'm going to be a Mesnick!" Melissa said before she, Jason and his son Ty jumped into the pool in their formal wear.

BUT – trouble was a brewin' again! The After the Final Rose Ceremony Show revealed that Jason and Melissa were not right for each other. Jason told Chris Harrison that since the cameras turned off, the chemistry has been completely different. Then he dropped the biggest bombshell EVAH! He told Chris that he couldn't get over Molly and that he was still in love with her.

Then, if that wasn't enough, Chris Harrison brought Melissa out on stage so Jason could break up with her on national TV. It was the most awkward half-hour of television in the history of television. Melissa called him a bastard and everything! To put the cherry on top of the shit sundae, the show brought Molly back so that Jason could beg for a second chance.

“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you,” Jason told Molly in a long-winded, rambling speech. “My heart hasn’t let go.” He then asked her out for coffee. Yeah, it was weird.

Molly looked confused and kept looking over at Chris Harrison. "But what about Melissa?" Molly finally asked.

Jason launched into more rambling about what he'd just done was terrible, but that he didn't want to live with regrets, etc. Although Molly said she was confused, she added, “My feelings never went away. I think we can see where things go.”

So what did you fan girls think of our waffeling bachelor? Hash it out in our forums, people!

Comment *I finally thought that the bachelor picked the right girl but as usual i was wrong again. I think Molly should have told his sorry ass sorry but you had your chance and you blew it. How could the station be happy about devestating someone like Melissa on national television. Its a very sorry day for TV that they would do anything at all for a good rating. Way to go!!! and as for jason he's an ass like every other bachelor you have had on.

Comment *I think Jason will always be confused. I'm sure when he gets back with Molly he will be thinking about Melissa; wanting to be with her too….
    Emotions do very strange things.
I tend to agree with what Melissa said to Jason -that they should work it out and talk it through.
Love is a very complicated thing – or is it lust?

I thought Jason was my favorite Bachelor but he turned out to be the Bastard that Melissa called him. I hope he gets back 10 fold all the heart ache and pain that he caused these women, especially for what he did to that Sweet Melissa. Molly you are a fool to even consider having anything to do with him. Jason you are a jerk!! You deserve to be hurt real bad like what you have caused Melissa. Melissa YOU ARE TO GOOD FOR THE LIKES OF THIS CREEP. I hope Melissa is our next Bachelorette. LOVE YOU MELISSA!!!

Jason is a Jerk!! Shame on him, did he not learn anything from Deanna…Molly needs to drop the loser before he hurts her, she will always be second choice in everything..wake up Molly…and Melissa, u deserve better so walk away with your head high…Melissa's parents were smart not to get involved in this disaster…I believe ABC orchestrated the whole thing and i'm very didappointed i wasted 2 hrs. every time to watch this crap unfold….done with both shows..u all deserve what u get

I've always thought Jason was a little off from when he was trying to win DeAna's heart…he wasn't right for her, and wasn't right for the final two girls.
I think he did a horrible thing…he should never have chosen either girl. He should've asked them both if they would continue to see him off cameras so he can get to know them both better…
very disappointed…Melissa deserves so much more!

Ha! Jason is a total loser and that whole After the Rose thing seemed insanely fake.

Did y'all see Jason on Jimmy Kimmel? He seemed really flippant about the whole thing if you ask me: http://squareeyes.blinkx.com/?p=403

My thoughts are that the progam the Bachelors is not really fair to either the guy or the girl. They ask them to fall in love in a mear 6 week period then turn around and tell them that they can't be seen or associate with each other for another 6 to 8 weeks. This is just not fair, and in all likely hood this might not have happened if Jason had been able to have been with Melissa. They could have more or less consumated their relationship. But here is Jason at the very best of situations sitting around pondering did I or didn't I do the right thing. The program should allow them to be together under some arrangement with out divulging to the public what the end result was. The very question of success of the program is definitely in question and is proven by the fact with only rwo or three successful marriages to it's credit in ten or mor years speaks for itself. I don't know what took place between Jason and Mellisa but if they were restricted to only talking on the telephone is not very likely to bring successful results to a supposed marriage. I think the same as one other comment that 6 weeks is just not enough time to make a full lifetime judgement. In my opinion the program needs to make some dramatic alterations if they wish the program to survive. People will stop watching if it aways ends in break ups or divorces. Nobody wants to watch that kind of BS

I was at my friends place when i watched Jason propose to melissa and was very happy with his decission… i got home an hour later and found out not only had Jason dumped her but that the television station had wanted that to happen all for rating and that Jason was crawing back to Molly. Melissa is a very special young beautiful woman who deserved the world… clearly jason was on his own planet and didnt see that.
I wish Melissa the best becasue thats what she deserves
