Benjamin Button Leads Oscar Nominations 2009 List

Throwing an Oscar party this year? Well, now you can start thinking of decorating ideas as the nominations for the 2009 Academy Awards were announced on Thursday morning, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Slumdog Millionaire lead the pack. Benjamin Button earned 13 nominations including Actor in a Leading Role for Brad Pitt as well as a Best Picture nod. Slumdog Millionaire followed with 10 nominations.

Pitt will be joined in the family Oscar nomination celebrations by Angelina Jolie, who earned a Best Actress nomination for The Changeling.

Although today marked the sad one-year anniversary of the death of Heath Ledger, the bittersweet news that he was nominated for Supporting Actor for The Dark Knight is serving his memory well.

The 2009 Oscar’s will be hosted by Hugh Jackman on February 22 at LA’s Kodak Theater. Check out the complete list of Oscar nominees at the official site of the Academy Awards.
