According to Entertainment Tonight, the downward spiraling pop star Britney Spears spoke with a British accent during her recent stay at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

US magazine also cited a similar occasion when the Britster spoke to X17 paparazzi using a peculiar British drawl. What gives?

In other recent Britney news, Dr. Phil is now under public scrutiny for trying to cash-in on Britney's mental breakdown. Even though he axed the show that was slated to exploit the Spears' family issues, the damage to his own career had already been done after he stormed Britney's hospital room.

"Because the Spears situation is too intense at this time, and out of consideration to the family, I have made the decision not to move forward with the taping," Dr. Phil noted on his Web site.
