Britney Spears Slated for Second 'How I Met Your Mother' Stint

How I Met Your Mother will enjoy another ratings spike courtesy of Britney Spears. After a huge ratings boost in March due to Spears' portrayal of a Ted Mosby-obsessed receptionist named Abby, the show is hoping to once again capitalize on the stunt-casting.

“I had such a great experience the last time I was on the show that I couldn’t wait to come back,” Spears said in a statement provided by CBS. “I was really looking forward to working with this cast and crew again. Everyone was so nice.”

Spears' co-star, Neil Patrick Harris, had previously publicly expressed reservations about "stunt casting," but has since claimed that his comments were "misconstrued."

My words were misconstrued," Harris told the Chicago Sun Times. "I think she was a huge get for us and it was amazing to work with her. We hope she will be coming back soon."
