When Carrie Underwood made an appearance on American Idol last night, it seemed as though she'd stepped out of a time machine that had aged her thirty years. Performing “I Told You So” with Randy Travis, Underwood sang beautifully though viewers may have been distracted by her new 44-year-old soccer mom look. What happened to our hot, young country star?

Alexis Grace was given the old heave-ho last night, which was especially painful as she lost her spot on the American Idol tour – a pretty neat consolation prize for the contestants. Grace's voice was probably much better than most of her competitors (see: Scott MacIntyre), but country week ended up royally screwing the bluesy songstress.

After Seacrest announced she'd received the lowest number of votes, Alexis had to sing her arrangement of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" again for a shot at the elusive "save" from judges, but the judges ultimately booted her. In conclusion: Carrie Underwood got a bad haircut.
