Getting paid to wear a watch in public proved to be too much for Charlize Theron. Hey, no one said working for a living was easy. Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil has sued their former spokesperson, Theron. The Swiss watch company claims that the actress breached a contract to wear only Weil watches in public.
Reportedly, Theron signed on to be the worldwide spokesperson for the watchmaker in 2005.
"Charlize is the perfect Ambassador for our timepieces," said Olivier Bernheim, Raymond Weil's CEO at the time.
Apparently, Theron signed a contract that stipulated she would wear only Weil watches 24/7 and a judge ruled this week that the suit will in fact go to trial. Weil is suing for $20 million – the amount he estimates Theron made from the deal.
