Since announcing her return from retirement, Cher has been on the media loop, and now she's also opening up about her romance with Tom Cruise. "It was a long, long time ago and neither one of us ever talked abot it," the singer told Entertainment Tonight. "I don't know why. He didn't mention it, and I didn't mention it."

According to OK! magazine, Cher and her Top Gun man actor dated between 1983-1986, "after Risky Business and right before The Color of Money," says Cher. "I couldn't go to Chicago [for the Martin Scorsese film], and that was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back."

Cher reportedly "loved" Cruise back then, but she's not so sure now since he married Katie Holmes and went all Scientology psycho on everyone. "When we were together he was such a private person," says Cher. "Now it's hard for me to look at this person and this press. How many times can I watch him jumping up and down on Oprah's couch?"

We feel the same way too, Cher.
