Christian the Hugging Lion is Damn Cute

A video that captured the reunion between Christian the lion and his former owners has captured the hearts of your sappy Bodog Beat editors. Yes, it might even surpass this video in the cuteness contest. And obviously, it completely knocks Snowball the dancing cockatoo right off his lame perch.

Australians John Rendall and Anthony Bourke bought Christian in 1969 and raised him as a pet in their small apartment. But when he grew to 185 pounds, they realized they had to release him into the wild and they took him to the Kenyan wildlife sanctuary. In 1972, Rendall and Bourke returned to Kenya to see if they could find Christian — and thus, this 39-year-old video of the reunion has racked up more than six million You Tube hits.
