Countdown to 'The Dark Knight'

The Dark Knight is gearing up to be the biggest thing since Hannah Montana posted slutty pictures on the Internet. Yes kids, this one's gonna be huge.

So far, 4,366 screens across the United States will be showing the flick, accounting for 90 percent of all movie ticket sales with industry experts projecting a $130 million opening weekend.

The only thing competing opening films can hope for is that they might get a piece of the overflow. Mama Mia and Space Chimps: this doesn't look good for you.

Perezhilton is reporting that The Dark Knight, "has more than 3-times as many advance tickets as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, more than 2-times as many as Spider-Man 3 and almost 2-times as many as Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at the same point in the sales cycle."
