Cynthia Nixon Announces Engagement to Christine Marinoni

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon made a big announcement during the Love, Peace and Marriage Equality rally for gay rights in New York City over the weekend, telling the crowd that she is engaged to girlfriend Christine Marinoni, whom she has been dating since 2003. Nixon had also split with her husband, Danny Mozes, in 2003, with whom she has two children.

Nixon and Marinoni plan to marry in New York, once it becomes legal for same-sex couples there.

Nixon told Access' Shaun Robinson in an interview last year. "I don't really want to get married to get married pretend. I think we'd like to do it in a real, actual, legal way that the state would recognize."
