With his amazing performance of "With A Little Help From My Friends,” Danyl Johnson totally stunned judges and audience members on the British talent reality hit The X-Factor last weekend. Johnson is a 27-year-old teacher and like Susan Boyle, has been thrust from obscurity to become an instant star. Johnson had tried his hand in the music industry for 10 years and being kicked down by it — but then his students at the arts school in Reading, England, that he taught at, urged him to apply for the show.

Simon Cowell said, "I’ve been doing this for what, how many years, 8, 9 years? Okay Danyl. That was single handedly the best first audition I have ever heard."

Johnson was on the Today Show this morning, "I'm so glad they got me to do it," he said referring to his students who had pressured him to appear on the The X Factor.

"My dream is to get an album out there and write songs," Danyl said of his future goals.

Matt Lauer also said that he'd never seen a singer with so much stage presence and that he would be rooting him on from this side of the pond.

"He's single by the way, " Anne Curry added with a wry smile.
