Over in Los Angeles, where urban gardens are few and far between, there appears to be a battle of sorts taking place between the people of an inner-city community and the land owner of a popular community garden. Said garden has been in operation for over 10 years, but now the owner wants to give it up — for a new warehouse.

Big deal. Right? Well, apparently it was a big enough deal for the Associated Press to report on it — as well as 40 protesters and one Hollywood actress — Daryl Hannah — who felt compelled to climb up and into a huge walnut tree (located on the property). Other protesters chained themselves to concrete-filled barrels.

"I'm very confident this is the morally right thing to do, to take a principled stand in solidarity with the farmers," Hannah said by cell phone before the fire truck raised officers into the tree.

When all was said and done, 40 people were arrested and the sheriff's deputies feasted on tasty walnuts.

Isn't she like…70? Gotta give the woman credit for being able to climb a tree. Wow.
