Actress Scarlett Johansson's album of Tom Waits covers, Anywhere I Lay My Head, is set to drop in May, and stars like David Bowie are already singing praises.
"The songs are really great, really good Tom Waits stuff," Bowie wrote on his official blog. "Scarlett's performances are mystical and cool.
"She creates a mood that could have been summoned by someone like the novelists Margery Latimer or Jeanette Winterson."
Bowie actually sings the backing vocals on two of the album's tracks. "All I really contribute are the oo's and ah's on a couple of tracks," Bowie said. "David Sitek, the producer, originally asked me to do three songs, but for one of them, "I Don't Wanna Grow Up," I didn't feel I could contribute much to do it, so I left it alone."
ScarJo's album will feature 10 Waits covers and one original song called "Song For Jo."
