DirecTV Craps on Memory of Chris Farley in Commercial

The late SNL comic Chris Farley, who made a living enduring fat jokes, is enduring it once more as the star of a new DirecTV ad. Farley died of a drug overdose which NBC writer Drew Magary points out "…almost certainly stemmed from massive insecurities, and making a (bad) fat joke about him."

For Farley's "friend" and Tommy Boy co-star David Spade to cash in on this commercial is probably the most disconcerting aspect. Spade, famous for his dead-pan ripping on Farley, sits back as Farley does his "fat guy in a little coat" routine and lazily snides, “Great, I’m here with tons of fun when I could be at home watching DirecTV… But no, I’m stuck here with either cable… or THAT.”

Did they take the time to piss on his corpse while making that commercial? Holy Jeebus. Get all your celebrity betting in the Bodog Sportsbook today. If you need an account, join Bodog now.

I call bullshit. As it turns out, Farley's family is on board. They I'd think they should be the ones who say what's appropriate and what isn't.
