Dr. Drew to Detox Rodney King on 'Celebrity Rehab'

If you thought the last season was insane, this season Dr. Drew Pinsky has enlisted the help, yes we said help, of Gary Busey, who claims 13 years of sobriety, and will join the cast to help the stars through the recovery process.

This season, the cast includes American Idol finalist Nikki McKibbin, actress and husband beater Tawny Kitaen, Rod Stewart's son Sean Stewart, former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, model Amber Smith and Rodney King.

Since the infamous 1992 4-day L.A. riots, which resulted in the deaths of 55 people, King has been arrested for spousal assault, as well as a high-speed, alcohol-related car chase, which ended when King smashed his SUV into a house. In 2007, King was shot via BB gun in the face, arms, back and torso by thieves who were attempting to steal his bike. He will most likely be among the most interesting cast members, as he has made few public appearances.

Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fliess was slated to appear on the show, but dropped out at the last minute. Celebrity Rehab will begin airing in October.

    rehab for rodney king. what a blessed thing, maybe this time he will help poeple with legal problems

    I'm glad to see that there is still interest in Mr. King. I was part of the personal private protection for Mr. King during the police trial. I had the opportunity to dine with Glen, travel in public and escort him to one of the opening games of the Dodgers. At no time, although brief, did I observe any bad behavior, signs of violence or temperment. I found Glen to be a very inteligent, (street smart)easy to talk to, polite and cordial person. I'm very curious to see that element that either made or makes Glen cross to the dark side.
