It's a hot one out there today. It also happens to be 7-Eleven's 81st birthday and they're celebrating by giving away free Slurpees. That calls for a "Huzzah!"

Your Bodog Beat editors are trying to find the catch — like when McDonald's was giving away free sandwiches but when you showed up, you were then informed that you had to purchase a large soft drink in order to get it, then you cried yourself to sleep that night. Those were dark days we don't want to revisit.

However, looks like the Free Slurpee Day promotion is the real deal. Just be sure you get there before the madness ends at 11 p.m. tonight. Oh, and the Free Slurpee website does indicate that you'll only get your Slurpee at "participating" stores. You might want to check out their store locater to be sure your local 7-Eleven is "participating" before you haul your cheap ass over there. Hey, don't be offended, we're cheap too. Being cheap is all the rage.
