Suffering through the overrated Jay Leno can be rough for any viewer — unless he's interviewing someone awesome like Gordon Ramsay.

During Gordon Ramsay's brief appearance on The Tonight Show, the notoriously angry chef managed to affably hurl insults (yes, it's possible if you're British) at women, American police and the French… all in an effort to promote his Fox show "Kitchen Nightmares."

"The French are so difficult. And they really do have bad breath. It's disgusting. I had a French girlfriend. It was like going to bed with a rottweiler on your chest," Ramsay told Leno.

Ramsay moved to Paris at the age of 23 and lived with his French girlfriend, who worked as a waitress. He waited tables to make extra money at Le Bastille café and earned his culinary stripes working as a chef at Restaurant Guy Savoy and the Jamin Restaurant. Now the French are steaming pissed and the 40-year-old chef has been flooded with angry letters penned mostly by [stinky] French women.

An insider told the press: "Gordon has really hit a nerve. It seems The F Word stands for France today, and the women are furious with him. They are particularly disgusted by his comments because he lived in France for almost three years."
