GTA IV Versus Iron Man, Nerds Conflicted

In what is a growing trend we are seeing a video game release butt heads with a movie release.
As you have probably heard, the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV was officially released yesterday at midnight. The much sought after PS3 and XBox 360 title is expected to make $400 million in revenue this week.
So what does that have to do with the new Robert Downey Jr. movie Iron Man?
Well all those people spending $60 ($120 for the limited edition) are the same demographic as the people that Iron Man is catering to. So basically Iron Man producers are wringing their hands over concerns that hundreds of thousands of their audience will have spent their allowance on the game and will be too busy in the basement to check out the film.
While reviews of Grand Theft Auto are glowing across the board, there is still reason for virtual hoodlums to dust the Cheetos off their chests and mosey down to the movie theatre. Early reviews of Iron Man are equally impressive.
