Known for playing the following assortment of roles, in real life, British actor Hugh Grant is delving into his darker side:
- a charming British bookshop owner in Notting Hill
- a charming British book publisher in the Bridget Jones series
- a charming British inheritant in About A Boy
- a charming British Prime Minister in Love Actually
Now, Grant is breaking out of the "charming" mold and opting for a darker, "creepy guy" part in the real-life drama, Hugh Grant Crashes College Party.
Hugh had been playing golf nearby with other celebrities in the Dunhill Links Championship but ditched the official 19th hole events in favor of a local student party at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Grant showed up to the small house party, surprising the students and immediately turning on the "British charm" he is famous for — by kissing multiple girls.
One of the partygoers told the "Sun": "He was lapping up the attention and he was quite drunk. It came across as a bit sleazy – sort of like [his 'Bridget Jones' character] Daniel Cleaver."
"He was asking the girls questions about who stayed where, and at one point he joked: 'Who lives in this hovel then?' He chatted to me and others about normal stuff, like what degrees we were doing."
"It was weird being in this small room with 10 to 15 people and Hugh Grant sitting on the sofa looking kind of creepy. Nobody could quite believe he had come to a student party."
