Johnny Depp to Play the Riddler in Next Batman Movie

According to U.K. magazine Female First, actor Johnny Depp has been approached to play the role of the Riddler in the next Batman movie.

"Johnny would be amazing as the Riddler," a source told the magazine. "The studio knew they needed someone who could match or even top the late actor Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker in the most recent film, The Dark Knight, and think Johnny has the potential to do so."

The Riddler was portrayed by Frank Gorshin in the 1960s TV show as well as Jim Carey in the 1995 movie, Batman Forever.

Female First also reports that studio bosses are considering Philip Seymour Hoffman for the role of the Penguin in the new movie.

    Umm…they dont even have any scripts yet, let alone crew and exec contracts.

    This is so far from true, and is just more of a hype marketing campaign.

    No one has approached Depp or his agent for any DC film.
