Kate Gosselin appeared on the Today Show to talk about her new book - oh, and the fact that Jon's been cheating. (TLC Images)

Mother of eight Kate Gosselin came to the Today Show to promote her book Eight Little Faces and also talk about the difficult rumors that her long-suffering husband, Jon Gosselin, has been having an affair.

“It is so public. It’s one of the things we did not envision when we started our show,” Gosselin said. “It’s one of the things that comes with it — the tabloid stuff. To be very honest, I’m very hesitant to believe any of it. It comes with the territory. We’re dealing with it just like everybody else does.”

Jon was scheduled to appear alongside Kate, but opted to stay home instead.

He released a statement to the show, “These allegations are false and just plain hurtful,” Jon said in his statement. “As I adjust to the attention that comes from being in the public eye, I need to be more careful and aware of who I am associating with and where I am spending my time. But the bottom line is, I did not cheat on Kate. I am sorry for putting my family in this awkward position, given some poor decisions and bad judgments I've made recently. I am working through this difficult time with my family. My family is my top priority.

Us magazine recently reported that Jon has been seeing a 23-year-old teacher named Deanna Hummel, whose brother came forward and confirmed his sister's affair with the reality TV star. Hummel has denied her brother's accusations, but Us has pictures of Jon with Deanna.
