Smiling big for his mug shot, comic Katt Williams was arrested on burglary and criminal trespass charges in Georgia on Sunday night. Booked at the Coweta County jail, Williams will be arraigned today at 4 p.m. ET today.

Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Major James Yarbrough said the the burglary occurred at a home in Newnan, about 38 miles southwest of Atlanta. Yarbrough said the homeowner called police around 9 p.m. to report the comedian gained entry by breaking into the home. Williams, who is apparently in Georgia to work on a movie, stole some jewelry from the home.

Williams is best-known for his stint on Nick Cannon's Wild 'n' Out. He also got some press when he handed out $100 bills to audience members at one of his performances at the Laugh Factory in L.A. There is no word on whether or not Williams has fallen on hard financial times, however back in 2008 he was admitted for a psychiatric evaluation after a string of incidents involving erratic behavior.
