When you think of the Kentucky Derby generally the first three things that come to mind are horses, betting and Mint Juleps. There is nothing like watching your winning horse cross that finish line first then celebrating with a classic Mint Julep.

The drink has been around since 1938 as the traditional beverage of the derby; don't you think it's time for something new? Noted cocktail expert Natalie Bovis-Nelsen of The Liquid Muse does.

Ms. Bovis-Nelsen headed into the lab to develop a brand new cocktail along with a hip new spin on the classic Mint Julep in celebration of the up coming derby.

After sleepless nights with nothing but Bunsen burners and boiling beakers she came up with the all original Billion-Ayre's Bet cocktail, a tribute to our work hard play hard founder; and here are the secret ingredients:

3 ounces Bombay Sapphire gin
2 ounces freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
3/4 ounce Campari
Squeeze of lime
Champagne
Ice Cubes

Still prefer the classic Julep for the special event? Why not try Natalies's spin on it and enjoy a Bodog JetSet Julep:

3 ounces bourbon
1 ounce Gran Gala orange liqueur (made with VSOP brandy)
1 ounce mint-infused raw sugar simple syrup
Ice cubes
Crushed Ice
