David Letterman had some choice words for Senator John McCain after he bailed on his appearance on Letterman's show citing the fact that he had to "race to the airport" in order to save America's economic crisis. However, when Letterman got wind that McCain ditched his show to appear on Katie Couric's CBS news show only a few blocks away, he rolled the footage of McCain being made-up while sitting opposite Couric.

“He doesn’t seem to be racing to the airport, does he?” Letterman said. Then he shouted at the television monitor: “Hey, John, I got a question! You need a ride to the airport?”

This came on the heels of McCain's curious decision to suspend his campaign to focus on fixing the nation's economy.
