British singer Lily Allen, who recently suffered a miscarriage and then split from her boyfriend, Ed Simmons of the Chemical Brothers, is finding a shoulder to lean on in Rupert Grint.

According to U.K.'s Female First, the Harry Potter star met the "Smile" singer at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix last year. "They swapped numbers then," a source told the mag. "And although they texted each other quite regularly, they didn't meet up.

Then when Lily split from Ed, Rupert offered her a shoulder to cry and she took it."

Grint, who plays Ron in the Harry Potter series is reportedly dating Skins actress Hannah Murray. However, he still finds time to make Allen feel "safe and protected."

"Lily got really upset when people recognized them," a source told Female First. "So Rupert protected her. She likes that.

"They get on really well and he makes her laugh. Last week, they enjoyed a Japanese meal together where they had a long intense talk as well as a few laughs."

Perhaps Harry himself, Daniel Radcliffe, could help out another troubled U.K. singer, Amy Winehouse?
