Actress Lindsay Lohan wants to show her commitment to lesbian lover Samantha Ronson by converting to Judaism. The 22-year-old was reportedly raised Catholic but believes that changing her religious beliefs might bring her closer to Ronson, whom she has been dating since last year, reports U.K. magazine Female First.

"Sam's family is Jewish," a source told Female First. "Lindsay has learned a lot about Judaism for Sam and admires its beliefs."

However, friends close to LiLo have doubts that she is actually serious about Judaism. "Two years ago it was Kabbalah. Last year it was Alcoholics Anonymous. She was into 'peace' for a while. Whatever is of the moment, that's Lindsay. But the one thing it does show is her commitment to Sam. She could be any religion and Lindsay would be open to it," a source told Life and Style Weekly.

Whether Lohan plans on converting to Judaism or not, her girlfriend, Ronson, spoke openly for the first time about their relationship to Harper's Bazaar magazine. "Lindsay is great," Ronson said. "But she's also 22 years old. I think people forget that. With the Internet the way it is, one second we're enemies, one second we're best friends, one second we're lovers, and then we're broken up."

Lohan, on the other hand, still refuses to confirm or deny her relationship with Ronson, saying, "I love the Ronsons. They're close to my heart and I respect the work they do. But Samantha and my relationship is a private matter."
