Lindsay Lohan surrendered to the Beverly Hills Police Department Thursday afternoon to be formally booked for her hit-and-run traffic accident last May, according to information from the Los Angeles Sheriff's department.

Beverly Hills Sergeant Michael Publicker confirmed to Usmagazine.com that the 21-year-old train wreck "surrendered herself to the Beverly Hills Police Department. At approximately 4:15 p.m., Ms. Lohan was booked at the Beverly Hills Jail as a result of her actions related to the traffic accident that occurred on May 26, 2007 within the City of Beverly Hills."

Publicker adds, "The booking process was completed without incident and Ms. Lohan was released on her own recognizance."

Besides having nearly twice the legal amount of alcohol in her system at the time of the Memorial Day Weekend crash, tests also revealed that Lohan had used cocaine that night, according to officials close to the investigation.

On July 13, she completed a 45-day stay at the Malibu's Promises treatment center and is now doing an intensive outpatient program.
