Lipstick Jungle Cancelled

NBC just cancelled two of it's biggest shows – Brooke Shields' Lipstick Jungle and Christian Slater's My Own Worst Enemy

After the numbers plummeted from the premiere episode, My Own Worst Enemy is currently filming the ninth of the 13 episodes ordered. The ninth episode is now expected to be the last episode.

Based on Candace Bushnell's book, Lipstick jungle filmed all 13 episodes, but after viewers started dropping off, they were moved from their Wednesday night slot to Friday – a death sentence for many shows. There has been no word on how NBC will fill these now vacant time slots.

Yesterday, Fox cancelled it's longest-running show Mad TV, while the drama Pushing Daisies is also in trouble.

I can't tell you what a stupid move, cancelling Lipstick Jungle is for NBC to make! But, I'll give telling you a try, in the hopes that there will be enough of an outcry for NBC to reconsider there lousy choice – definitively not the one to cancel! We (my husband and I) have almost decided to quit watching network tv at all. They cancel most of our favorite "new" shows.

Just yesterday, or the day before, Kelly Rippa was telling the audience when Lipstick Jungle was going to be on this week, because she loves it! We do too!

NBC has lost almost all of our "business". I can only think of 2 shows on that network that we even like and try to watch. But that may all change. If they are going to take away our faves, then maybe we just need to take our eyes away from their advertisers, etc!

    Really bad move NBC!

~ Julie (and Gean – prime mid-aged parents with teens – a primary audience target family I believe – but not for you anymore NBC)

How could they cancel a show like this. These woman are an example of who we are and things we are capable of accomplishing. I have much respect for woman that can go out into a "Mans World", and then come home and take care of home…..Please try and work something out so that we can enjoy their lives and try to enjoy the rest of ours. Thanks

Cannot believe you are cancelling Lipstick Jungle. It is a great show.
Rather nice no violence. Rethink what you are doing!

Lipstick Jungle is phenomenal! If they cancel the show there won't be anything to watch. Though moving it to Friday is definitely a death sentence. I do hope that if we write enough that NBC will realize that they are losing a valuable show! Not to mention the viewers that watch other shows online just cause their looking for Lipstick Jungle! And advertisements!!

I love watching Lipstick Jungle, dumb move to cancel this show. It reminds me of Sex in the City (a bit more conservative obviously..) and we all know how well Sex in the City did!! Don't cancel this show, please!!!

I am so upset about the cancellation of Lipstick Jungle one of my favorite shows. It has a great ensemble of stars, the writing is great, the clothes are great. Why, why why? I will also miss the opening music. All in all a classy show and a nice change of pace from all the cop and forensic shows. Hopefully another network will pick it up, please, please.

Lipstick Jungle was one of the best shows that came to tv after Sex and the City was done. I am so sad it has been canceled. Will any of the episodes be shown, since they are already taped?

Comment *you are cancelling LIPSTICK JUNGLE? are you nuts? LIPSTICK JUNGLE is the ONLY network show i watch. it's a great show, it should be #1, if any of you knew how to market Brooke Shields, it would be bigger than Sex & the City. i'm not surprised, you've probably got another reality show lined up. Dumb.

WHAT?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I am so disappointed! I haven't been this into a show since Sex and the City…I don't know why they don't give this show a real chance. We need more!!!

I love this show, but I haven't been able to watch it when it airs (have to work early and get my beauty sleep), so I catch up on one or two episodes at a time, on the internet.

I'm so bummed, I love the situations, episodes, etc. and as any working woman, I'm too busy to watch it every week. Do they take that into consideration? I didn't even know it moved to Fri. eve. until just now (when I heard it was cancelled).

I think scrubs was also cancelled in it's infancy, then turned out to be a hugh hit. Perhaps if we let them know how much we love it, we will get our show back.

Comment *Mad TV is not even close to being Fox's "longest-running show"…a little show called "The Simpsons" has been on the air since 1989!
