Oscar nominee Matt Dillon was arrested last night after police clocked him going 106 mph on a Vermont freeway in a rented Chevy. He was charged with driving at an excessive speed.
The 44-year-old star of the 2004 hit movie Crash was pulled over in the town of Newbury and is scheduled to appear in Vermont's Orange County Court on January 21. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of three months in jail and a $300 fine.
Dillon began his acting career in 1979 when he was discovered in the halls of his New Rochelle, New York, junior high school while playing hooky. The casting director asked Dillon to audition for a role, and Dillon made his film debut in the violent teen drama Over the Edge. Since then, Dillon has appeared in over 40 films and has dated hotties including Diane Lane and Cameron Diaz. See, kids? Skipping school can lead to a great future.
