Mel Gibson is trying to get his career back in order and is stupidly opening his mouth about how he "sympathizes" with a really rich dude who cheats on his wife. Gibson says the Tiger Woods affair has been blown way out of proportion and that he "feels sorry" for Tiger.

“Nobody is without sin,” Gibson said. “You have to try to make amends if you can. You have to shut up and move on and not whine about it. And you have to deal with it like a man. You’ve just got to accept your own culpability.”

Gibson went on to say, “I feel sorry for Tiger Woods. Why are we talking about this when we’re sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan? … He’s being used as a diversion, and it just drives me crazy.”

You know what really drives you crazy, Mel? Those anti-Semitic voices in your head.

Gibson is now out promoting his new movie Edge of Darkness. He is also talking about leaving his wife of 28 years, Robyn, and having a baby with his new girlfriend, pictured above.

In other Mel Gibson news, more than 20o prison inmates in Mexico have been transferred to at least four other jails so that Gibson can use their facility to shoot his movie, dispite protests from family members of the incarcerated. Gibson is slated to direct and star in How I Spent My Summer Vacation, about a career criminal who learns to survive in a Mexican prison with the help of a nine-year-old boy. Gibson also penned the script.
