Former "O.C." actress Mischa Barton thought that a gig hosting a New Year's Eve bash at a club in Last Vegas would revive her currently dead career. However, following a DUI arrest last week, the former "Marissa Cooper" has lost her hosting position.
According to OK! Magazine, the actress (and most probably her publicists) thought it would be best for the young star to keep quiet this New Year's. Her hosting gig for the opening of a new club called CatHouse at the Luxor Hotel has been canceled.
"Mischa was being paid almost $500,000 to host the party," a source revealed. "She hasn't had a hit in years, so she needed the cash and the spotlight." Well, at least the DUI got her one of the two: the spotlight.
