NBA at Bodog: Opening Week Continues
LeBron James set to play tonight vs. the Hornets
Opening night in the NBA yesterday did not disappoint. But with the Milwaukee Bucks at Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings at New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, the two big games were Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets at San Antonio Spurs.
For the San Antonio Spurs, Tony Parker scored 26 points, Tim Duncan had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Manu Ginobili added another 10 points. The Spurs would defeat Denver 102-91 and just as an FYI…San Antonio is 9-0 on opening night since Duncan has been with the team.
The Dallas and Phoenix game proved to be a classic 'duel in the desert', with the Mavericks storming back from behind to force overtime. Phoenix would get a buzzer-beater by Jason Terry to force a second OT, but Dallas would go on to win by an 111-108 margin.
Welcome to the 2005-06 NBA season, folks. With a new dress code in effect, basketball has never looked better.
The king returns to the court tonight as LeBron James leads the Cleveland Cavaliers in their season-opener at home versus the New Orleans Hornets.
