Fans actually slept in the streets for two whole days – in the rain — in anticipation of the New Kids on the Block performance on The Today Show. True story, folks.
Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg, and Joey McIntyre took the stage for the first time since 1994 to perform the biggest hits, “The Right Stuff,” “Please Don’t Go Girl,” “Step by Step,” and “Hangin Tough” before launching into their new single, “Summertime.”
Back when most of us were suckling on our mama's teats, the multi-platinum boy band constantly topped the charts with a plethora of hit singles. However, once they surpassed puberty, their tween fans lost interest and so they changed their name to NKOTB, a name which earned the band a severe backlash and thus they fell into obscurity — finally calling it quits in 1994.
Today however, the boys — ahem, men – proved that the New Kids might just be the Comeback Kids. Our friends over at Gossip Girls have the video. If their appearance on The Today Show is any indication of their crazed fan-base, it looks like the New Kids jumping on the reunion bandwagon might be the reunion tour to beat.
