NLCS Game 5: Tom "the Rain Man" Glavine?
Tom Glavine (2-0) vs. Jeff Weaver (1-1)
For the Mets, starting pitcher Tom Glavine will be looking to regain momentum for his New York team, who beat St. Louis 12-5 on Sunday night in Game 4, but then was forced to take a day off Monday on account of the rain. The delay may have thrown some pitchers off, but at 40-years-old this starter is used to it.
Rain delays only add to Tom Glavine's strength
"I was ready to pitch, mentally and physically," Glavine told reporters. "I know the numbers might say otherwise, but to me, at this time of year, pitching on three days' rest is all about how I feel, and I feel good.
Cardinals starting pitcher Jeff Weaver is used to the rain. As the NLCS Game 1 starting pitcher, a game that was postponed by a day, Weaver had one of the best outings of his career. (Plus, this one's at home in front of 47,000 screaming Cardinal fans and that can only be a good thing.)
