Let's be honest here – it's been a wild ride for O.J. Simpson. A ride which ended today in 15 years of jail time, with consecutive terms that could extend his time behind bars 2.5 years or more. Yes, to the delight of Fred Goldman and well, pretty much everyone else in the world, Simpson will finally pay the piper today for a crime unrelated to his most infamous, but will most likely leave the families of the dead feeling vindicated.

Simpson was facing a possible sentence of life in prison and a minimum of six years after his conviction of kidnapping and armed robbery in Las Vegas.

"He's a very resilient guy," Simpson's attorney Yale Galanter said yesterday. "He's handling this fairly well. He's hopeful. He believes in the criminal justice system. He believes he'll be exonerated."

"O.J. comes into court with a lot of baggage," Galanter added. "Even though he was acquitted in the mid-'90s, the public perception is that he did it."

However, Judge Jackie Glass setenced Simpson to at least 15 years in prison. He will not be eligible for parole until after at least five years.

Speaking outside the courthouse, Fred Goldman said, "There's never closure, Ron is always gone, but what we have is satisfaction that this monster is behind bars where he belongs."
