Pete Doherty has decided to catch up on his spiritual reading while he's spending 14 weeks in jail. The Babyshambles frontman is reportedly reading an English translation of the Koran, reports celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

"I'm suprised how much it has calmed him down as he was very on edge inside," a source told Perez. "He definitely seems more chilled. He's lapping it up and really interested in it. I think it's helping him in there."

Another source told entertainment blog The Bosh, "He's got a lot of Muslim friends and they've been on at him for ages to study it. Now he's on his own he's got time on his hands to study it."

Got time on his hands. In jail. No shit.
