Poker Player Annie Duke Blogs on Celebrity Apprentice

It's no secret that professional poker player Annie Duke was a force to be reckoned with on Celebrity Apprentice. She was a great fundraiser, a strong project manager and the woman was a pro at keeping her cool when crazy people were hurling crazy insults at her (see: Joan Rivers). Now, Joan seemed like a smart, energetic, hard-working individual. However, when it came to Annie Duke, Joan was all kinds of crazy. During the season Rivers had compared Duke to Hitler and made numerous reference to poker players being "trash." And Annie's tragic flaw was also abundantly clear. Duke could not stop reminding everyone how awesome she was. As a viewer, as soon as you started to like Duke, she would brag until you wanted to throw your TV out the window.

In 2004, Duke beat a field of 234 players in the WSOP $2000 buy-in Omaha Hi/Lo Split and won her first WSOP bracelet. In August of the same year, Duke won $2 million in the No-Limit Texas Hold’em winner-take-all, invitation-only WSOP Tournament of Champions. She has been hailed the best female poker player in the world.

Do you think Annie Duke deserved the title of Celebrity Apprentice? Or do you think Joan Rivers' intense hatred of Duke was justified ? Duke explains on her blog about what happened after the last boardroom.

One of the best reality series I enjoyed watching all up until Annie Duke was fired. This was classic Trump voting on the side of popularity and not the business side and the side that deserved the crown. Although Annie not the most popular did what she had to to win and she did. Very very disappointed in the decision and I think I will be taking a break from The Apprentice if this is how they are going to be.

Annie Duke was the clear winner. Joan Rivers was pathetic as was the Donald.
