Anne Heche recently landed the lead role in the new TV series, Men in Trees. Heche partly attributes her understanding of men which helped her get the role, to her weekly poker nights.

Heche has starred in "Six Days Seven Nights," "Psycho," and "John Q," as well as having made appearances in television series such as "Ally McBeal" and "Everwood."

"Guys talk differently than women, and I'm able to communicate with them," Heche said in a statement. "I play poker when I'm not working, so I'm often at a table full of men. I think that helped me with this show."

"Men in Trees" airs on Fridays on ABC.
